Hi, I’m Neelakanta (Neel), founder of callme.org.inCSRGuruji.com and Green Business Network (green.ind.in). Professionally, I work to create meaningful impact through these ventures, but my true passion has always been animals and nature. Animals aren’t just companions they are family, friends, teachers, and sometimes, even healers. My journey with animals has shaped the person I am today, teaching me love, patience, responsibility, and joy in the simplest aspects of life.

The Beginning of a Lifelong Bond

It all began 15 years ago when a tiny puppy named Tonny became the first member of our family. I still remember the day clearly the tiny puppy with bright, curious eyes and a trembling little body came into my life, completely unaware of the love and care that awaited her. From the very moment I held her, I felt an unexplainable connection. It was as if we had known each other forever. Tonny bonded with me in a way I had never experienced before.

Caring for that small puppy was my first real introduction to the joys and responsibilities of pet ownership. I learned the importance of patience, gentle guidance, and consistent care. I also discovered how much joy a single living being could bring into a home. Tonny taught me about unconditional love, the kind of love that doesn’t demand anything in return, and the way animals give themselves fully to those who care for them.

From that moment, my life began to change. I started seeing animals differently not just as pets, but as companions with unique personalities, emotions, and needs. This small puppy opened my heart to a world I hadn’t truly noticed before, and I quickly realized that my love for animals would grow into a lifelong passion.

Growing With Pets

Over the years, I have had the privilege of caring for numerous animals, including dogs and cats, each of whom has left a mark on my heart. Every animal is unique, with its own personality, quirks, and ways of expressing love and loyalty. I learned to read their body language, understand their needs, and communicate in ways that go beyond words.

While Tonny was my first teacher, my experiences with other pets have expanded my knowledge and strengthened my ability to care for animals in a meaningful way. I have learned the importance of patience, consistency, and empathy. Handling pets isn’t just about feeding or walking them, it’s about understanding their emotions, responding to their fears, and celebrating their joys. It’s about building trust, which is often a slow and delicate process, but ultimately one of the most rewarding experiences in life.

Lessons Learned From Animals

The lessons I’ve learned from pets are countless. They have taught me:

  • Patience: Animals operate on their own timelines. Whether it’s training a puppy, caring for an older dog, or comforting a frightened cat, I’ve learned to slow down, observe, and respond with care rather than frustration.
  • Responsibility: Taking care of a living being requires dedication. Feeding, walking, grooming, and monitoring their health are daily tasks that demand consistency and reliability. Animals don’t understand excuses they depend entirely on you.
  • Empathy and Compassion: Animals cannot always verbalize what they feel or need. Learning to understand them has sharpened my empathy, making me more sensitive to the feelings of all living beings.
  • Joy in Simplicity: Pets find happiness in simple things, a walk in the park, a scratch behind the ear, a cozy nap by your side. They reminded me to appreciate the little moments in life that are often overlooked.
  • Loyalty and Trust: Animals give their trust fully, but it must be earned. This has taught me the value of integrity, honesty, and respect in every relationship.
  • Active Lifestyle and Discipline: Caring for pets, especially dogs and cats, has made me more active. Daily walks, runs, and playtime have transformed my routine, making me healthier and more energetic.

Building a Passion into a Mission

While my love for animals started as a personal journey, over time, it has grown into a mission. I realized that my experiences, knowledge, and understanding could help other pet owners and enthusiasts foster better relationships with their pets. This passion led me to establish Furry Friend, my initiative dedicated to dog training, pet care, and helping animals and their owners build strong, loving bonds.

Through Furry Friend, I focus on:

  • Professional Dog Training: Helping dogs develop good behavior, social skills, and obedience in a compassionate and effective way.
  • Pet Care Guidance: Providing advice to pet owners on health, diet, grooming, and general well-being.
  • Animal Welfare Awareness: Promoting responsible pet ownership, adoption, and care for animals in need.

My Philosophy

What fascinates me most about animals is their simplicity: they ask for love and care, and in return, they give their hearts completely. Caring for pets has transformed my life. They taught me discipline, punctuality, and responsibility. I was once lazy and unstructured, but walking, running, and spending time with my pets has made me active, mindful, and deeply connected to life.

Every pet deserves love, care, and understanding. Through Furry Friend, I aim to help you build strong, loving bonds with your furry companions, making every day happier for both you and your pets.

Looking Ahead

My journey with animals is far from over. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new from understanding canine behavior to discovering how small acts of care can transform a pet’s life. I am committed to continuing this journey, expanding my knowledge, and helping others build meaningful connections with their pets.

Animals have given me purpose, joy, and countless memories. They have taught me life lessons that extend far beyond the realm of pet care. And through my work, I hope to give back to them and ensure that more animals experience love, care, and happiness in the lives of those who welcome them into their homes.
